Infectious Smile Dating Service

infectious smile

I am in the very early stages of creating my own online dating service and feel I am being hamstrung by a distinct lack of market research. While my knowledge of the human heart and further downs are without peer, my understanding of the business world is vestigial at best. In times of need I turn to you, my friends and loyal readers to review my first foray into uniting the unloved and too lazy to date outside their social circle.

Keep in mind this is a very small part of a much more exhaustive questionnaire, but it should give you a sense of the tact and shape of things to come. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.

Response to a tragedy

“‘I wish to God she had had an M-4 in her office, locked up so when she heard gunfire, she pulls it out and she didn’t have to lunge heroically with nothing in her hands and takes him out and takes his head off before he can kill those precious kids,'”

Rep. Louie Gohmert  on Fox News Sunday

Louie Gohmert, truly you are the last reasonable man. Of all elected officials only you had the courage to point out the truth: it’s not the abundance of guns that causes mass shootings, it’s the scarcity.

In times like these we must find the courage to ask hard questions: Why didn’t that kindergarten teacher have an assault rifle close at hand? What kind of society would task someone to shape young minds, yet deny them the necessary fire power? Why, they could keep it in a case by the blackboard and have the class name it as they would a turtle or hamster.

My beloved Sally and I’s brief foray into American university radio. For a couple of novices we were pretty damn solid: Sally brought smooth facilitation and an in depth understanding of the subject matter, whilst I brought the glib charm. Steak and Sizzle for the win.

When I was ten no one could prove anything. We knew things, but there was rarely a means of verification. The  library nearest to my house was a two hour walk and our encyclopedias were decades out of date and missing several volumes of alphabetic importance. I knew there had been a Civil war, but the finer details of  SLavery and SMallpox remained maddeningly out of reach.

Letter Day: The first

Writing is literary masturbation. Blogging is literary masturbation on a crowded city bus. The mandate of my site is essentially “Look at me, I talk fancy” and I am comfortable with that. But I’ve done wrong, often and early and in innumerable ways, so there is a karmic debt to be paid down. But how can a self centered sociopath give back unto the world from which he has taken? He writes a smug advice column where he substitutes his suspect judgment for that of his guileless readers, that’s how. Let’s get down to business.

The Children I do not have

When I was twenty I could only explain myself in terms of the person that I would become. The degree I was pursuing, the books I was reading, the girls that I was trying to fuck. There was intent and affect but very little substance. Over time the aspirational conceit faded, I didn’t know what I wanted to do but I had a sense of who I was independent of context.  I knew my values and beliefs even if I didn’t have a clear venue in which to apply them.
